Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to take the DipIFR, you need to meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be a professional accountant or auditor, qualified in your national accounting standards.
- Hold a relevant degree plus two years' work experience in accounting.
- Have three years' relevant accounting experience (you will need to submit a letter from your employer).
- Hold an ACCA Certificate in International Financial Reporting plus two years' work experience.
Syllabus and Objectives
The course is designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards. You will learn to:
- Understand and explain the IASB’s conceptual framework for financial reporting.
- Apply major IFRS standards in the preparation and presentation of financial statements.
- Identify and apply disclosure requirements for companies in financial reports and notes.
- Prepare group financial statements (excluding group cash-flow statements), including subsidiaries, associates, and joint arrangements.
Exam Structure
Format
A single computer-based exam (CBE).
Duration
3 hours and 15 minutes.
Passing Mark
You need to score 50% or more to pass.
Content
The exam contains a mix of computational and discursive questions. Section A typically involves calculations for group accounting, while Section B covers various IFRS standards scenarios.
